In a new post in the Battlefield Blog, DICE has announced that players participating in the Battlefield: Bad Company demo can now check their stats online. The stats have been posted on the Official Battlefield Site and, although limited until the full release of Bad Company, show your play time and weapon unlocks.
For those of you, like myself, who had applied to become a Battlefield Heroes beta tester, you probably received quite a scare when the company handling the applications, QA Boss, sent out an email alerting users their account information may have been compromised.
Apparently the company had a security leak last week which exposed account information for the thousands of users that had registered on the site in recent weeks. Members' usernames, encrypted passwords, and email addresses were all exposed for a period of time, and it was highly recommended that you change your password to protect your account from further damage.
Today, the Battlefield Heroes team issues a statement addressing concerns and assuring everyone that your EA Account information remains completely secure.
There has still been no word from QA Boss as to the extent of the damage the security breach caused, but we will keep you posted as more develops.
The Battlefield Heroes development team has updated their official blog this afternoon, addressing the abilities and classes of the upcoming release. Colin Clarke, a lead developer, gives us a sneak peek at a view of the abilities which will be featured in Heroes, including the Grenade Spam, Heroic Shield, and of course the Blasting Strike. Be sure to head on over to the Official Heroes Website to check out the full post and get all the details on these crazy abilities.
Over the weekend the Battlefield: Bad Company demo has exploded onto the Playstation Network and Xbox Live. If you have a PS3 or an Xbox 360 I suggest you go now and download it to try out this amazing game.
EA today further confirmed the release of the public demo for June 5th, and also released a demo trailer to along with it. The trailer, which shows live game play from both the single player and multiplayer aspects of the demo, gives a great preview of what gamers can expect upon downloading the 1.4 GB demo. Head on over to the Bad Company Website to check out the trailer for yourself. The demo is scheduled for release Thurseday, or you can play it now if you have already pre-ordered the title.
If you have been enjoying playing the online aspect of the recently released demo, you may have some trouble connecting over the next few days. EA has announced that they are planning server maintenance which may cause disruptions to service. The maintenance is scheduled to occur for several hours in the middle of the night, so unless your playing well into the morning hours, you should be relatively unaffected. All the details about the service can be found below.
There has been a new community update over at Battlefield Heroes Website today. Most of the announcement is to inform fans of new Heroes content around the net, including a list of previews over at Planet Battlefield.
If you are one of the few who decided to pre-order Battlefield: Bad Company from EA, the developer has decided to return the favor by giving away access codes for an open demo. Starting today, players who pre-ordered Bad Company for Playstation 3 or Xbox 360 have been given a code which will allow them to download the 1.4 GB demo. For more information on the demo, or if you would like to pre-order the game through EA and get your demo code, you can do so by clicking the image link below. [

Battlefield: Bad Company delivers a deep single-player campaign loaded with dark humor, intense combat and deafening destruction. Players take on the role of Preston Marlowe, a young soldier whose antics land him in the division with the highest mortality rate alongside other troublemakers Sarge, Haggard and Sweetwater. Players will tackle harsh terrain and fierce enemies with their squad of renegade soldiers as they search for an elusive treasure using dozens of vehicles, weapons and deadly toys all at their disposal for explosive experimentation.
Gamers can also jump online for some intense multiplayer action as players become either an attacker or defender in the Gold Rush multiplayer mode as they protect or destroy crates that hold precious gold and their ticket home. As gamers embark on their quest for financial freedom, they'll experience the same classic Battlefield gameplay including access to numerous vehicles, weapons and open maps as well as the new tactical destruction that only Battlefield: Bad Company can deliver. The popular Conquest mode made famous by the Battlefield franchise will be offered as a free download later this summer."
